Josh's Training Progresses :)

Josh did a great job during week one. Not only following his training schedule it to a T........he demolished it!

If you see Josh at the track, in the streets, or at the bar training. Give him some encouraging words, buy him a beer, or best of all heckle him like a lost boy would!

Josh is training hard............are you!!!!!!!

For Wade, Ace, and the Original Lost Boys

I have noticed on Facebook that there is some shit talking going on about the "Original Lost Boys" and the "2011 Lost Boys." Therefore this post will do some clarifying.
This was one of the initial emails sent to the 2011 Ypsi Lost Boys earlier this year.

Good Evening,

As most of you know before "Pirates of the Huron River" the original EMU Great Lakes Relay team had the infamous name of "Ypsi-Lost Boys"

Because of some bastard pirate hookers and local police in 2007 there was an unfortunate event that took place. The team got disqualified. From my perspective the Ypsi lost boys did no wrong and were just trying to make the Great Lakes Relay a better place. Every team that meets the Ypsi Boys during the relay leaves reminded of laughter, joy, and a little bit of craziness that all EMU athletes and alumnus bring to the relay and display. To be honest, there are many teams that do not bring this same enthusiasm to the GLR. Well, I say that all of those teams should be disqualified!!!!!!!!!!! not the Lost Boys!!!!! If the relay had a 9pm mandatory sleeping time and getting drunk was a penalty, no one would go on the Great Lakes Relay........It would be boring. I feel as the 2007 team was doing there civil duty by making the relay a better place. Because they entered foreign tents, maked camp fire, and drank a beer or two all GLR participants have a better story to tell from 2007. Because of this the 2007 team should be honored for there commitment and passion to make the GLR a better place.

Im sorry, I rambled there I don"t have anything else to do with my life.

Therefore, I am proposing the possibility of changing from the current name of "Pirates of the Huron River" back to "The Ypsi Lost Boys." The current team name would more than likely still be "The Ypsi Lost Boys" however if in 2008 the team returned with that name there is no way the team would of of been let back into the race. Since then we have been reestablished as the EMU team and should not have any problem with the name change if we decide to do so.

I also recommend you take a look at this hilariously awesome lets run thread that lasts for 7 pages. It is a good recap of a historic team that will go down in history of the GLR

In recap, I am proposing that we change the team name. I know people enjoy the pirate theme, but the "lost boys" where pirates as well just in child form. I would like everyones input on this. All thoughts, comments, and concerns are very appreciated.

The 2007 Ypsi lost boys should be honored and we will honor them regardless of the name change. More will be discussed on this at the first team meeting.

Have a good day gentleman
